The latest issue of the energy magazine PROENERGY also brings its readers an article on the current state and dynamics of the intraday electricity market within the EU, prepared for the magazine by our colleague Robert Maier.

The article provides interesting information on how the SIDC (Single Intraday Coupling) project has contributed to the acceleration and efficiency of cross-border electricity trade in the EU and how market participants can react to changes in electricity supply and consumption in almost real time.

Readers can also learn which key factors currently influence the behaviour of market participants and what new challenges are brought by surplus electricity during sunny days, produced by the growing share of renewable sources, especially photovoltaics. The topic is explained here and contains information on battery storage, community energy projects, smart demand management and modern flexibility models.

Also worth noting in the article is the information about the expansion of the XMtrade®/ISOT system, which the Slovak market operator (OKTE, a.s.) launched on April 1, 2025. The new functionalities increase the robustness and reliability of the system, and at the same time create space for even better connection with the information systems of market participants.
